Oh, baby!!

The Bramell's had some company this weekend. The family from east Arkansas made their way over to check out little Becca. This picture is 4 generations!!

Quote of the day: from Nola to Pam, "I'll hold the baby, while you go fix lunch." And she said it with as good a poker face as you can get.

Of course during the time they spent here, Becca was just nice and quiet. They didn't get to know the nighttime Becca!

She doesn't seem to know daytime from night yet, but we are getting better at getting her down to sleep. I think the key is a full belly and maybe a bath before bedtime!!

Becca Bramell is in the house....

Well, we finally have our baby girl. She decided to be punctual and come right on her due date!! The doc said only 6% of babies are actually born on their due dates, funny huh.

Here's the short version: Rebecca Leigh Bramell was born at 9:29 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22 via emergency c-section. She is 6 lbs, 9 oz and 19 1/2 inches long.

The long version is that my water broke on Tuesday at 1:20--while I was at work, of course. Nothing like a little excitement to get everyone riled up. Then I went off to the clinic, where they sent me right on downstairs to the hospital and admitted me. I "only" had about 2 hours of hard, horrible labor before the doc decided that Rebecca wasn't handling it well. She had three different episodes where her heart rate went way down. It was really scary when it seemed like the entire hospital staff came running into our room at once to check us.

At about 8:55 the doc said he wanted to get her out, and at 9:29 he did. It was so fast and unexpected. You all know what a planner I am---this was NOT in the plan. But we are so thankful she is fine and all is well.

What is taking so long!!!

The good doctor told us today that Rebecca is still not ready to come out yet. Our next appointment is Friday and if she hasn't come out by then, they will make arrangements to go in and get her!

Welcome to the Bramell Family blog. This is our first blog. I just like saying the word blog. We have started this blog because the Bramell Family is about to get one bigger!! Rebecca Bramell is now on "simmer" and getting ready to enter the world outside of momma's womb. This will be an easy way for everybody to see pictures and communicate with the Bramell's of Fayetteville, AR.
