Fun Music For Kids Makes a Great Holiday Gift

Momandpop are a husband-wife duo who live in nearby Eureka Springs, who have recently released their debut album. I have connected with Virginia (the mom) who was kind enough to send me a CD to let my kids try out. We've had it about a week now, and played it every time we've been in the car. My kids are BANANAS over this music!

 

It's actually kind of a funny story. My kids are ages 9, 6 and 6. When I first played the CD for them, the 9-year-old pretended to be too cool for "kid music." She said she didn't like it. Well, by 10 minutes into the CD, she was singing right along with the littles!

 

In short, we give this CD a glowing review. The lyrics are creative and catchy, and simple enough that we were singing along by the second chorus of each song. I personally appreciate the smart lyrics and punchy humor. We all have our favorites now, with these tracks being our top three:

I will tell you that I'm cooking our Smoked Ham (bone-in) for our Black Friday meal this year.  Well, my mama will be cooking it this time, but that's a story to share when the time comes!  I prefer the bone-in smoked hams because you can make two delicious meals with it ; I made the best pot of white beans after Easter using the bone from our Easter ham. 

 

Here is my post on our Easter Ham.  I used Trisha Yearwood's recipe for glaze and it was fantastic.  I'm going to suggest to mom that she use it, but she might have her own ideas.

And I'm not talking about just any old ham, people.  I'm talking about the best ham you've ever tasted--and it could be yours!  I am giving away a Petit Jean HIckory Smoked Spiral Cut  Ham, just in time for Easter festivities.  My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Have I told you lately?

Have I told you lately that.....I will be doing a sweet giveaway for FREE BOOTS from Country Outfitter?  I know it's been a while since I mentioned it here on the blog, but if you've been on Facebook at all over the last month, you have seen a flurry of links to giveaways out there in internet world. 

As you may remember, I got my free pair of boots when I attended the Arkansas Women Bloggers conference at the end of August.  Because Country Outfitter is such a progressive company, in touch with how we communicate in new media, they are also providing the bloggers with a $150 gift card to give away on our own blogs.

Seriously, I've never owned cowboy boots before, so I didn't know what to expect.  I've worn them several times already, and I swear I'm not lying, they are very comfortable--and pretty!  "These are the tennis shoes of cowboy boots," said Evolved Mommy, when I picked up the boots at the Country Outfitter warehouse.  She was right!  I wore them on my recent trip to Nashville.  Right? I had to wear them to Nashville!  Even hustling through airports, the boots did not slow me down.  And I'm pretty sure I saw people admiring their awesomeness more than once.  Or maybe I had toilet paper hanging out my pants? I'll assume it was the boots.
