Oops, I forgot the best part...

Becca is saying "Mama" and "DaDa" quite a bit now. When she is with me, she wants "DaDa," and when she's with him, she wants "MaMa." Of course, I'm sure she is very advanced for her age and other 9-month-olds do not do this : 0

Anyway, I took her to see the doctor by myself this morning. He listened to her chest and looked in her ears, all while she was staring intently at him (her usual serious/skeptical self). The minute he leaves the room, she said loudly to the door, "DaDa!" It was so cute.

Look at my big girl seat!

We got Becca's big girl car seat last Friday! Here she is trying it out in the living room. She played in it several times before we put it in the car. She loves it! I am very happy with it, too--after doing so much research.

This picture is from bedtime a few weeks ago. I think it's just so sweet.

Ok, so here's what we've been up to. Tracy came to visit a couple of weeks ago, then Grammy and Nanny were here this past weekend. We had a good time visiting with everyone. And, of course, Petey hammed it up for them. I guess I am a bad mom because I did not even take out my camera either weekend. SO...if you guys will send me a few of your pictures, I will post them. I'm also going to scan her professional pics and get them posted to share, too.

We went to the doctor this morning because we suspected another ear infection. Luckily, it's just a little cold. The doc said most of her symptoms can be traced right back to the teething. She weighed 18 lbs, 12 oz. and right on track he said. I thought she would weigh more, but glad she doesn't! It seems that our new sleeping pattern is two nights good, then two nights bad. YUK!

That's all for now. I'm going to bed while the gettin's good. : 0

All About Becca

Becca is really starting to get a personality now. She is crawling non-stop and we are chasing her around the house. I think she will be walking soon. Oh--and she has cut her first tooth--which is why we haven't been sleeping (see post below).

Things Becca likes:
Fergie
Chewing on Fergie's toys (!!!)
Ducky Bath Time
Crawling
Eating
Looking out the back door

Things Becca doesn't like:
The vacuum
Hair dryer
Diaper changing
Going to bed
Teething!

Here are some funny pictures from the aforementioned looking out the back door. She is going to hate us one day for this!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

This is a picture of Fergie's special Valentine treats. I got them for her a couple of weeks ago at the doggie bakery. She finished off the last one a few days ago, but I wanted to have a picture to show them off. Of course, she enjoyed them very much. What a spoiled doggie!

Here is a picture of my special Valentine treat that Lee gave me this morning.....isn't it WONDERFUL??!! One of Lee's co-workers drew this portrait of Becca for us. Lee snuck around and got it done and custom framed and matted. It is SO beautiful! I am so lucky. Erin really captured Becca's serious expression and beautiful eyes. I am very happy!

Weekend with Pop

Here are the pictures from Pop's visit last weekend. Petey had a good time with him!

O Sleep, where have you gone?

Well, here we go. Officially teething. How can one teeny tiny little tooth cause so much trouble? The past two nights, we have been up and I think the tooth is the problem. Saturday night, Becca was awake from 2:00-4:00AM and last night it was 2:00-5:00--yes, AM. Why we didn't think to try the Orajel on Saturday night, I don't know. But last night Lee thought of it. The tooth is on the bottom, and it is barely poking through--just enough to feel a sharp edge. Someone please tell Lee that she is not awake because she is spoiled and wants to be rocked--if that is the case, wouldn't she just go right back to sleep? My friend Sara says the first 4 teeth are the worst, and after that it should be fine again. But how long will it take for 4 teeth to come in?? At this rate, we might sleep again by Christmas.

In other news, Pop came to spend the weekend with us. We got some cute pictures, but will have to post them later when I get home. Thank goodness Becca didn't cry every time he picked her up! In fact, she loved all over him! We went to see the Wal-Mart Visitors Center/Museum in Bentonville. It was pretty neat; can't believe I've lived here 15 years and never seen it. Of course, Dad liked it since he used to work at Wal-Mart in the 70's and even had dinner at Sam Walton's house once. I never even knew that!

Snow Day, Picture Day and...a Spring Day??

Thursday and Friday were snow days for us, although the snow did not start until mid-day on Thursday. I did not have to go into the office, so I got to stay home with Becca. This snowy picture is from Friday morning, looking out of our front door. Lee threw snowballs at Becca on the window in the back door, and she thought it was pretty funny.

Saturday was picture day for Becca! We took her in to have more professional shots done. I thought it would be good to do them while she was sitting up good and while she would be still. Well, Miss Becca was not having any of this picture mess. It's bad enough that we can't get her to smile, but the poor photographer couldn't either. She would not smile and would not really look at the camera. We jumped, clapped, danced and acted like complete fools. We were going to do some shots with Becca wearing a feather boa, but when the lady put it around Becca's neck you would have thought it was a snake!! Becca tuned up and stuck her bottom lip out, and that's all she wrote. We only had a 30 minute session, and we got about 5 decent pictures. Oh well...

And today was a beautiful day...about 62 degrees. So we all went out for a walk around the neighborhood. It was nice to get out after being cooped up last week. And you can see, Becca loves to stand up now--as long as she's holding on to something.
