Birthday Cake!!

My shirt says it all.

Yummy cake.

Doesn't she look excited to be 1!!

Just before the cake eating contest.

How about that smile. It only took us a year to get one on camera.

Becca had us rolling. She had so much fun with her cake. She didn't quite know what to do with it at first except stick her hands in it. Once she figured out she could eat it too, the feast was on!!

As you can see, it was just as much fun to wear as it was to eat! And of course, Fergie got her share of cake too!!

Happy Birthday Becca. We love you.

Happy Birthday, Sweetie Petey!

Today is Becca's big day! One year old....oh my. I dressed her for daycare this morning in her birthday shirt, so the whole world knows. I only cried a little bit last night while she slept in my arms. She's not a baby anymore. How can that be?

I wasn't able to get any pictures this morning because the camera was charging and we were rushing to get out the door. Daddy put together her Play & Learn Kitchen....she wasn't sure what to think of it, but she liked the plastic balls that came with it. Go figure. Might as well play with the box.

Tonight, we are having a few friends and Grandma over for dinner and cake, nothing big. I'll put on some pics late tonight or tomorrow.

Boo Boo has a boo boo!

Well, this is injury number two for the babe. She took a face plant into the driveway yesterday when we were playing. She has a little scrape on her chin and one on her nose. Luckily, she didn't cry very long.

It's weird, she has been walking for nearly 2 months, but she is still a little wobbly. And, she prefers walking on the concrete to walking on the grass--so this was bound to happen.

These are a couple of pictures from last week. I love this little outfit that Tracy got for her! She is playing with her lion push/ride toy. Actually, in the first one, she is talking to it. She has become quite the jabber box lately. No real words yet, but I'm sure she is saying something very intelligent.

We had a good weekend. Lee went off camping with the boys and left just us girls at home. We did lots of blowing bubbles, laughing and playing fetch. Even though we had a good time, we really did miss daddy a lot. So glad he's home now!

New Pictures

"I sure like bathtime! It makes me smile."

"This shower thing is kind of cool, too."

"Look at the food in my mouth.....yummy!"

"I don't want baby food; I want what you're having."

More about our wonderful, beautiful, funny, genius BIG girl....

We have some new pictures to post, but it will have to be later. Not enough time now, and the camera is at home.

We are starting to work on cutting down Becca's formula. We are trying to transition to eating 3 meals a day, and getting off the bottle. We are down to only 3 bottles a day instead of 4. She is really enjoying eating big girl food--she couldn't care less about the baby food now. Tuesday at daycare she ate a WHOLE banana!! Last night she ate some baked ziti like a little piggy. I have some pics of that...very funny! I know that my mom has some of the same pictures of me and Tracy eating spaghetti, too.

Becca is also taking a big girl bath now, too. No more ducky bath for our big girl! Sometimes she even gets a shower with the hand held shower hose.

I took the day off on Monday since I had worked all day last Sunday in Fort Smith. So I took Becca to baby storytime at the library. There were about 25 babies there. It was so cute! At first, I was worried she was afraid. She clung on to me for dear life and would not let me put her down. But about 15 minutes into it, she was off and running around the room and playing with the other kids. It was so cute, I almost cried. I can't believe she is such a big girl now! Where did my little baby go?? They only have storytime on Monday and Thursday mornings, so it just does not work for our schedule. But I sure wish we could take her more often.

Two weeks from today my baby will be ONE. I think I might cry.

Weekend Pictures

We had beautiful weather last Saturday. We met Janet and Bob at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade for lunch and a stroll around the mall. Here are the pics that Janet took of Becca.

Are we really that old??

Every now and then, one of these e-mails comes along. You just have to laugh. Because it's true, of course.

(This is just part of it).

THE SPOILED UNDER-30 CROWD!!! If you are 30 or older you will think this is hilarious!!!!

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking 25 miles to school every morning ... uphill BOTH ways yadda, yadda, yadda. And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!
But now that I'm over the ripe old age of 30, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! And I hate to say it but you kids today don't know how good you've got it! I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!!
There was no email. We had to actually write somebody a letter, with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there! And no mp3's or iPods for us...if you wanted to record a song, you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and mess it all up!
We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600 ! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'asteroids'. Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!
When you went to the movie theater there no such thing as stadium seating! All the seats were the same height! If a tall guy or some old broad with a hat sat in front of you and you couldn't see, you were just screwed! Sure, we had cable television, but back then that was only like 15 channels and there was no on screen menu. You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! There was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little brats! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980 !
Regards,
The over 30 Crowd
